Terms of Service

1. Eligibility and accounts

• You must be at least 18 years old to use FarmWise.
• You must provide accurate information when you register and keep it up to date.
• You are responsible for keeping your login details and one-time passwords confidential and for all activity on your account.
• One person may hold one account. Do not share your account or sell or transfer it to anyone else.

2. The Service

FarmWise provides agricultural learning courses, quizzes, exams, certificates, points and rewards, and an AI assistant (Baba Farmer). Course content and AI answers are provided for general education and information only. They are not professional, veterinary, legal or financial advice, and you are responsible for decisions you make on your own farm or business.

3. Subscriptions and payment

• Some features, including course content, require an active paid subscription. Plans, prices and durations are shown on our pricing pages and may change from time to time. Prices are in Nigerian Naira.
• Payments are processed by third-party payment providers. By paying you agree to their terms as well as ours.
• You can also activate certain plans by SMS to a short code. Standard network charges may apply.
• A subscription runs for the period of the plan you select. Unless we tell you otherwise, it does not renew automatically unless you have agreed to recurring billing, and you can cancel from your profile at any time. Cancelling stops future renewals but does not refund the current period.
• Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us promptly and we will look into it.

4. Certificates, points and rewards

• Certificates are issued when you complete a course and pass its final exam. We may withhold or revoke a certificate if we find cheating or misuse.
• Points, badges, streaks and leaderboard positions have no cash value and cannot be transferred.
• Weekly or monthly prizes are subject to the rules published with each prize. We may change, suspend or end any reward at any time.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• break any law or infringe anyone's rights;
• cheat on quizzes or exams, or use bots, scripts or other automation to earn points or rankings;
• copy, record, redistribute, resell or publicly share course content without our written permission;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts or our systems, or interfere with their operation;
• upload or post content that is unlawful, abusive, misleading or harmful; or
• misuse the AI assistant to generate harmful or unlawful content.

6. Intellectual property

The Service and its content, including courses, text, images, video, audio, logos and software, are owned by FarmWise or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. We give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Service for your own learning while you comply with these Terms. You keep ownership of content you submit, and you give us a licence to use it as needed to operate the Service.

7. Third-party services and links

The Service may contain links to or rely on services we do not control, such as payment providers. We are not responsible for their content, availability or practices.

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms or if we need to do so to protect the Service or other users. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that following any course or AI answer will produce a particular yield, income or result. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, FarmWise and its directors, employees, partners and licensors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, crops, livestock, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria, after the parties have first tried in good faith to resolve it informally.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the "last updated" date. If you keep using the Service after a change, you accept the updated Terms.
